Metro Council Meetings

The Louisville Metro Council meets the second and fourth Thursdays of every month at 6 p.m. in the Council Chambers of City Hall.

St. Matthews Area Ministries (St. MAM)

St. MAM is conducting a Back-to-School Supplies Drive during the month of July.  Donations may be dropped off at the Central Office, 201 Biltmore Road, in the City of Beechwood Village.  Needed items include: pens, pencils, erasers, rulers, yellow highlighters, spiral notebooks, pocket folders, loose leaf paper, Elmer’s glue, glue sticks, scissors, pencil sharpeners, markers, crayons, colored pencils, red pens, composition notebooks, 3-subject wide-ruled notebooks, steno pads, and backpacks.

St. MAM will collaborate again with Consumer Credit Counseling Services in offering “Budgeting and Credit Card Usage” on Thursday, July 17th, 6:00p.m.  This is an invaluable offering for anyone interested in avoiding some of the traps associated with Credit Card Usage, while learning and better understanding the essentials of money management through budgeting.  Contact St. MAM at 893-5704 to enroll for the class.

Blood Drive in Lyndon

The Lyndon Area Business Association will host a blood drive on Monday, July 21 from 2 p.m. – 8 p.m. at the Lyndon Fire House, 8126 New LaGrange Road.  The Louisville School of Massage will provide free massages while you while and “Give a Pint – Get a Pint” from Bruster’s Real Ice Cream.  For more information, contact 339-9115 or email lyndonbusiness@bellsouth.net.
